Geography of Nepal

 Nepal is a landlocked country located in South Asia. It measures about 880 kilometers and has an area of 147,516 square kilometers (56,956 square mi ). Nepal is bordered by China from the north and India from the south, east and west. Geographically, Nepal is divided into three regions : Himalayan region , Hilly region and Terai region . The highest point in Nepal is Mount Everest (8,848 m) and the lowest point is in the Terai plains of Kechana Kalan  situated in Jhapa(60m). Nepal : ( Federal democratic Republic of Nepal ) is a landlocked country. It has an area of 147,516 Square kilometer (5 6,956 square mi).It lies in South Asia bordering the Republic of India (from south, east and west) and the Republic of China (from north). It is mainly situated in the Himalayas  which also includes Indo-Gangetic (Indus-Ganga Plain and North Indian River Plain) parts. Nepal has a diverse geography, including fertile plains, subalpine forested hills and high mountains. Mt. Everest (8848 meters) known as world`s highest peak is also lies in northern part of Nepal. It`s capital city is Kathmandu and it is also the largest city of Nepal. Nepal is rich in natural resources (known as second richest country in water resources).
